Things I learned/confirmed today during a trip to the annual carnival/exhibition:
- Soft-serve ice cream actually tastes better when surrounded by a large crowd, loads of bright colors, & speakers blaring '90s dance music.
- Despite what you tell yourself & no matter how much you resist, you
will end up pissing away $15 for a shot at winning, say, a vintage-style Coca-Cola poster/wall clock.
- No matter how old you are, Tilt-A-Whirls are always f***ing awesome. ^_^
- The lack of a Gravitron does decrease the overall fun somewhat, but can be made up for with at least 4 other excellent rides.
- Apparently, the carnies that run games are huge fans of
Invader Zim, as evidenced by the guys at separate booths who asked me where I got my Gir t-shirt, & offered me $20 for it, & took a picture of it...Actually, in retrospect, it kind of seems creepy now. o_O
- If you have any spare tickets leftover & want to blow them on something, do
not try to recapture your youth by going in the fun house you went in several times when you were in grade school...Or at least not one featuring one of those cheap-ass plastic slides that's guaranteed to skin at least one part of your body. >_<
...All in all, still one excellent day. At the very least, i was able to score candy apples (only in season for one more month)!
